It is very difficult to stand by and not be able to speak out to others of the things we know, the things we think about and how we feel but to ensure that the prosecutor and detectives can do their jobs we remain silent.
What will tomorrow bring? What will be said and how hard is it going to be to sit in that room for the entire day with that person sitting only a few feet away? I have no idea. But I do know this...my family is surrounded not only physically but around this country by so many people that are there to support us and let us lean on them when we need to. To let us cry and scream and sit in silence.
I am thankful to all of you who tell Joey's story, that support us in all the little ways that you do - because to us they are not little... friendships are HUGE, simple text messages and private messages, phone calls that last five minutes or that go on for hours keep us going and let us know we are not alone.
This is not something you ever imagine to live through, it's something you see on a Lifetime Movie or you follow a case on TV. I have followed many of these real life cases on television and newspapers and many times I wondered how in the world the families were able to deal with these horrible situations. How do you get through it? One step, one minute, one hour, one morning, one night, one day at a time. Deep breaths, lots of tears, lots of sleepless nights. Good friends, things to occupy your mind and the love and grace of the good Lord above.
Hug your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Get down on the floor and play and let them be the incredible kids that they are.
