Instead of my rehashing what went on in the Preliminary Hearing I thought I would publish links to the Mountain Home News articles. Both articles cover the hearing (spread over two Fridays in August) very well. While the first article has a few minor errors it is still a great article.
August 16th article can be read HERE . This was the day of testimony. Joey's mom, officers from the Mountain Home Police Department, the forensic pathologist (who was amazing on the stand) and the child abuse pediatric expert (who also was amazing on the stand). It was rough to sit through this day but being prepared ahead of time as to the autopsy report and not having to see the pictures that were introduced into evidence blown up on the screen (this will happen at trial) helped a lot.
The second day of the hearing was on August 23rd and can be read HERE .
All in all, the Preliminary Hearing went just as we hoped, the accused was bound over to District Court on 1st Degree Murder charges. We will be in front of the District Court Judge in just a few days for arraignment. And thus starts the next leg of this long path we are on to justice.
My family and I want to thank each of you that came to the courthouse, one or both days, to support us and to thank each of you that are thinking of us, praying for us and sending positive thoughts.
I miss my grandson every day. I miss his laughter and smile and most all his fun loving personality.
